This page presents the six mixed waste categories covered by the Broad Spectrum Basic Ordering Agreements (BOA). It also lists the appropriate vendor for each mixed waste category. You can find detailed information each vendor's treatment capabilities and facilities on the next page (Vendor Description). You can find a summary of each vendor's waste acceptance criteria on the Comparison of Waste Acceptance Criteria page.

Treatment Category A

East Tennessee Materials and Energy Corporation
  • Description: Noncombustible, low-level contact-handled soils, sludges, and other solids contaminated with RCRA metals including mercury, and/or organic constituents.
  • Waste codes: D001 through D011 and F001 through F007 (additional codes expected include D018 through D043 and those list codes that may need similar treatment technology).
  • PCB content: N/A
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
Treatment Category B

East Tennessee Materials and Energy Corporation
  • Description: Noncombustible, low-level, contact-handled soils, sludges and solids.
  • Waste codes: D001 through D011 and F001 through F007 (additional codes expected include D018 through D043 and those list codes that may need similar treatment technology).
  • PCB content: PCBs above levels requiring regulation under TSCA, RCRA.
  • Other contaminants: Metals including mercury and/or organic constituents.
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
Treatment Category C - BOA HAS EXPIRED

Waste Control Specialist
  • Description: Noncombustible, low-level, contact-handled soils, sludges and material meeting the EPA definition of debris.
  • Waste codes: D001 through D011 and F006, F007 (additional codes expected include D018 through D043 and those list codes that may need similar treatment technology).
  • PCB content: N/A
  • Other contaminants: Mercury levels will be below 260 ppm.
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
Treatment Category D - BOA HAS EXPIRED

East Tennessee Materials and Energy Corporation
  • Description: Low-level contact-handled, combustible and noncombustible material including soils and sludges and may contain some material meeting the EPA definition of debris.
  • Waste Codes: This category contains EPA codes that require incineration or an approved alternative.
  • PCB content: All of this waste is contaminated with PCBs above levels requiring regulation under TSCA.
  • Other contaminants: RCRA constituents that contain EPA codes needing incineration or permitted alternatives.
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
Treatment Category E - BOA HAS EXPIRED

Waste Control Specialist
  • Description: Low-level, contact-handled, combustible and noncombustible material including soils, sludges, electrical equipment and debris.
  • Waste codes: N/A
  • PCB content: PCBs above levels requiring regulation under TSCA and needing thermal treatment or permitted alternative.
  • Other contaminants: RCRA-regulated materials are not present.
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
Treatment Category L - BOA HAS EXPIRED

East Tennessee Materials and Energy Corporation
  • Description: Low-level, contact-handled Elemental mercury and liquid aqueous and organic RCRA non-wastewaters, slurries, and wastewaters. The aqueous and organic wastes may contain organic constituents alone, or organic constituents and RCRA metals.
  • Waste codes: D001 through D011 and F001 through F009 (additional codes that are expected include D018 through D043 and those listed codes that may need similar treatment technology).
  • PCB content: PCBs above levels requiring regulation under TSCA, RCRA.
  • Other contaminants: Metals and/or organic constituents.
  • Radionuclide content: Radionuclides in the raw wastes below licensing levels at Envirocare of Utah, Inc., and consist of elements accepted for disposal at that facility.
