ENVIRONMENTAL PAGER
As we move ahead with the Accelerated Clean-up Project, it is essential that we maintain Safety as a core value. It is incumbent on all of us to firmly reinforce the concept that no project is important enough to allow shortcuts that may impact the safety and health of our employees or a negative impact on the environment for the sake of budget and schedule.

While we routinely focus on and discuss safety & health associated with work activities, our focus on environmental issues is not always as crisp. BJC ES&H Environmental Compliance and Protection (EC&P) has developed a tool, the "Environmental Pager", to heighten our collective awareness of environmental issues and to provide BJC and subcontractor employees with a brief technical summary on a wide range of environmental compliance-related topics.

We will be issuing such Pagers on a periodic basis. Please distribute this and future Pagers to others who do not have access to BJC E-mail and feel free to use them as "Safety Topics" for discussion in your meetings.

If you have questions about this Environmental Pager or suggestions for future topics, please contact Larry Long, EC&P Program Manager at (865) 574-2907 or Glen Galen, EC&P Deputy Program Manager at (865) 576-3968.
